A Visit To Women Literacy Center

On July 14, 2017, the Women Literacy Center at C-Block, Jahangirpuri, was visited by Matthew Brusnahan (Graduate Research Assistant) and Elise Harrington (Doctoral Student) from MIT Tata Center along with Mr. Pankaj Kumar (A.G.M.) and Mrs. Geetanjali Tripathi (Manager) of Tata power DDL.

Mrs. Geetanjali Tripathi explained the importance of education and how education can open doors for a lot of opportunities for better prospects in career growth to the underprivileged women. She explained the team that how illiterate women are being taught Hindi and Arithmetic through Computer Based Functional Literacy Software developed by TCS.

The Team gave their feedback that it was very communal and close – knit community of women. Video/audio program seems very manageable and the additional materials look great. Access of fast paced effective learning.

The team was thankful that they got an opportunity to assess the visit.
